Maybe you know me from Battle Роре, maybe from Tech Jacket, there's а
good chance you know me (and Cory) from Superpatriot: America’s
Fighting Force, there’s also a possibility that this is the first book of mine
you've ever picked up. No matter what your reasons for picking up this
book are... you found your way here, and for that you are to be commended. Thank you, sincerely, for giving us a chance when you could
have spent this money on lunch... or X-men... or you know... booze.
Invincible is a part of this swell new Image superhero line that I'm sure
you've all been hearing so much about. It's a great honor to be working
with all the people involved in this project, | think ALL the books look like
winners and quite frankly if |were in charge of the world you'd have to buy
them all. Anyway, for those of you that are buying all the books, | promise
there will be a lot more interaction in this book after we get this initial story
arc out of the way. In fact, Firebreather will more than likely be appearing
in issue six so if you liked this book, make sure you pick that one up so
you won't be lost during that issue. Well, you don't have to, but it's a swell
book, | promise... | think voud be glad you did.
But enough trying to talk you into buying other books (well... there’s Tech
Jacket, you gotta buy that one) I'm here to talk about this one! Invincible
is a labor of love for all involved. Гуе had the idea of a super-hero son for
quite a while and it's a dream come true to actually see it in print. We've
got big plans for this book so if you dig it... make sure you stick with it,
because it only gets better from here. Now, let’s take a second for me to
rant on about this creative team.
Cory Walker is one of the best damn artists in the industry today. The lines
this boy puts down form such pretty pictures | could stare at them for
hours. If you really dug this issue and would like to find more of Согу8
work, dig up the SuperPatriot mini from this past summer, you'll be glad
you did. You'll be able to watch Cory grow from a fine artist to a DAMN
fine artist in a measly four issues. Besides it'll help him support his checkers habit, the boys hooked on checkers.
Bill Crabtree was on Star Search one day, he was a finalist in the comics
coloring category. He didn’t win, and the guy that did sells bait down in
Miami now, so he's kinda bitter about the whole ordeal. Luckily for him,
though, a fella by the name of Andy Kuhn was in the audience and he
offered Crabtree a gig coloring the aforementioned Firebreather. Which he
colored SO well, that when | got an advanced look at that book... | offered
him this one. And can you believe it, the sucker took the job!!??! And on
top of that, he did a better job on this book than he did Firebreather... HA!
I'm Robert Kirkman, | write the damn book. | really hope you liked it,
because | really enjoy doing this and would really enjoy continuing to do
so. | promise || try harder next time.
