LUT RESOURCES
LUTs are used in Hollywood films and across 2D and 3D animation and are an easy way to
completely transform the look of your render. LUTs are preset color grades that allow you to
audition color grades with a click of a button! Here’s a little more about what LUTs are and
why they’re so important.
1. What is a LUT?
LUTs stand for ‘look up tables’ and using them can largely improve your render quality and
color. LUTs input the existing colors of your image and output a different one. Some increase
brightness, saturation or contrast, while others totally change existing hue values into totally
different ones - some can even do a combination of all of the above!

a. You can punch up raw renders or footage up fast and add filmic looks.
b. You can use LUTs to add unique style to your render.
c. They can be used to help unify different shots.
d. LUTs can be saved, shared and utilized in many apps like RS, Octane, AE, Premier and even
Photoshop, making them much more functional than color presets that can only be used in a
the app they were created in.
