Task Name: Reference to Context and Letter Writing
What are the important elements that you (teacher) will be assessing with this task?
Task Description:
The task will be divided into two parts.
Part I will comprise of an excerpt given to you from the novel based
on which, there will be direct and application-based questions.
Part II will comprise of a letter you will have to write, the topic of
which will be pertaining to the theme(s) of the novel.
The students will be assessed on providing perceptive identification and comment upon
significant aspects of the questions pertaining to the novel, ‘The Breadwinner’. They will
be assessed on giving detailed justification of opinions and ideas to support the answer with
a range of examples, and thorough explanations while using accurate terminology. They will
be expected to effectively use a range of appropriate vocabulary, sentence structures and forms
of expression in the letter written, and use grammar, syntax and punctuation with a high
degree of accuracy.
