One of these is the software overtemperature protection. In this case, the software continuously monitors the temperature of the heating devices connected. When the measured temperature exceeds that of the setpoint by a specified value, the heating will be permanently switched off. The other method is an independent temperature sensor which is fitted to every heating device. This sensor is continually monitored by the electronic system. If a fixed set temperature is exceeded, the heating will be switched off permanently. At the same time as the heating is switched off, an error number is shown on the display. After error recognition, the device can only be switched to normal operating mode by switching it off and on again. ► The serial number of the adapter 2 (overtemperature test) which is used must be entered in the inspection log. ► Software overtemperature triggering channel 1: On adapter 2, the rotary knob for temperature setting (temperature) must be turned completely to the left (anticlockwise). Adapter 2 is then plugged into channel 1 of the controller. Switch the Barkey autocontrol 3XPT on in normal operating mode. After around 5 seconds, the control unit displays a temperature of approx. 38°C ± 1 K for channel 1. The LED for heating on adapter 2 must come on. Now turn the rotary knob for temperature setting slowly to the right. The temperature displayed will slowly rise. The LED for heating should be flashing, if the temperature display rises above 39°C. The more the temperature rises, the more rapidly the display flashes. The LED remains off above a temperature of 40°C. Turn the rotary knob for temperature settings slowly further to the right. At a temperature ≥ 41°C, the yellow "error" LED must light up on the control unit and the display must show error number 104. If this is the case, the software overtemperature trigger is working correctly. The result of this software overtemperature test must be entered in the log. The Barkey autocontrol 3XPT must be switched off to reset the error display. ► Electrical overtemperature triggering channel 1: Adapter 2 stays on channel 1. The rotary knob for temperature setting (temperature) must be turned completely to the left (anticlockwise). Switch the Barkey autocontrol 3XPT to normal operating mode again. Wait until the temperature is shown in the display. Then press the overtemperature button. The LED for heating must go out on adapter 2. The yellow "error" LED must light up on the control unit and the display must show error number 105. If this is the case, the electrical overtemperature trigger is working correctly. The result of the electrical overtemperature test must be entered in the log. ► Software overtemperature triggering channel 2: Carry out as for channel 1. Figure 33: Assembly position ► The GMH 1170 digital thermometer is used for temperature measurement, together with two temperature sensors. The temperature sensors are available in two versions for the various heating profiles. Temperature sensors with a diameter of 5 mm are used for the Barkey autoline XPT 4R low-flow. Temperature sensors with a diameter of 7 mm are used for the Barkey autoline XPT 4R high-flow. One temperature sensor (with the appropriate diameter) is placed in the heating profile at the head and at the end of the Barkey autoline 4R in each case. At the head, the temperature sensor is flush with the lower edge of the widened part. At the end, the temperature sensor is placed centrally in the widened part (see image). At least 20 cm of the sensor cable must also be placed in the heating profile. ► The "temp inspection" menu option is used to warm the heating devices Figure 34: Position of the temperature sensors automatically up to their maximum setpoint. After around 45 minutes the Barkey autoline XPT 4R and the temperature sensors will be uniformly heated. ► Now, both temperature sensors are connected to the digital thermometer one after the other. For technical reasons, the Barkey autocontrol 3XPT regulates the temperature of the warmest sensor in the Barkey autoline XPT 4R to 43°C. The temperature of the other sensor can be considerably lower. This means that there are also temperature differences for both reference temperatures. One of the two reference temperatures must be 43.0°C ± 1.0 K, the other reference temperature may be considerably lower than 43°C. ► The temperatures chX a and chX b shown on the autocontrol must be entered in the inspection log (X is the placeholder for the channel which the heating device is connected to). These temperatures must not deviate from the reference temperature by more than ± 1.0K in each case. 5.2.3 Measurements as per EN 62353 The safety check is to be carried out in accordance with EN 62353 in the version valid at the time. When carrying out the inspection, you must also read and observe the operating manual of the test equipment being used. ► Enter the type and serial number of the test equipment in the inspection log. ► The (test equipment) test probe is connected to the contactable conductive parts of the control unit for all measurements. Connections for application parts (on the test equipment) are connected to the end of the Barkey autoline XPT 4R. Ensure that the autoline is not damaged while doing this. ► The measured values for insulation resistance and leakage current must be entered in the inspection log. ► An evaluation is then carried out using the measurement results and taking earlier measurements into account to ensure that the device complies with safety requirements. 5.2.4 Function testing and overtemperature inspection There is an independent temperature sensor in every heating device. This sensor is continually monitored by the electronic system. If a fixed set temperature is exceeded, the heater will be switched off permanently. ► To carry out the overtemperature inspection, the temperature sensors belonging to the digital thermometer must be positioned in the Barkey autoline XPT 4R as for the temperature inspection. This results in uniform heat release and a homogeneous measured value. ► The heating device must be connected to channel 1. ► In the "service menu", select the "overtemp. inspection" menu option. Here the electrical overtemperature triggering is checked. The function test is carried out simultaneously. ► The Barkey autoline XPT 4R is automatically warmed up to its maximum setpoint. During this period, the display shows the flashing text "heating to max. setpoint please wait !". This process can take between 5 and 10 minutes depending on the initial temperature of the heating device. 36 Serviceanweisung Barkey Prismacomfort V5 GB ac-200-EW-0000-06 - 2016-04-07 Barkey GmbH & Co. The ventilation openings for air entry are underneath the device. The ventilation openings for air discharge are in the handle recess. These can be blocked by dust deposits forming on the ventilator. If air circulation is restricted by dust deposits or a blocked ventilator, the housing can become overheated. If the temperature in the housing rises too steeply, the electronics system switches off automatically. This condition is shown as an error (error number: 74). This error does not lead to damage to the electronic system. It does not cause any hazard either. The housing has to be opened up in order to clean the ventilation openings and the ventilator. (see Chapter 6.2) Components can then be cleaned using a cotton bud or compressed air. Ensure that no dust particles lodge themselves between the display and the front screen. 6.8 Replacing the battery The battery must be replaced every 3 years. To do this, unscrew the housing (see Chapter 6.2). A lithium battery of type CR 1225 (3 V / 48 mAh) is used. The battery can be removed from or fitted into the battery holder without tools. The time and date must be reset after replacing the batteries (see Chapters 3.5 and 3.6). The language required must also be reselected for the particular user.
