WEDDING CEREMONY REMINDERS / PRACTICAL TIPS When Applying for Marriage License: 1. Original PSA copy of Birth Certificate in needed. Prepare at least 2 copies for each applicant. 2. Original PSA copy of CENOMAR (Certificate of no marriage). Prepare 2 copies (1 for City Hall and for the Victory Pastoral Services) for each applicant. 3. For Church Member, write VICTORY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC. under the Religion/Religious sect. 4. Take note that the Marriage License is valid for only 120 days form the issued date. Make sure that your marriage license at least 100 days before your wedding date. 5. For CELEBRATION OF MARRIAGE or RENEWAL OF VOWS, no need for marriage license. Just give the photocopy of you marriage certificate to Victory Pastoral Services Admin. Before the Wedding: 1. Register for Marriage Counseling Session (Pre-marital seminar). 2. Make sure to coordinate with the Pastoral Services Pastor/Admin for final details or any corrections on your wedding details. 3. Submit your requirements/legal documents at least 1 (ONE) MONTH before your wedding date. 4. Make sure to proofread your Marriage Certificate, right after your wedding meeting with your officiating pastor. 5. If you are planning for an out of town wedding, its good practice to allot travel and accommodation expenses for the pastor if necessary. Make sure to allot a plus 1 for the pastor (Intern/Wife). 6. An honorarium is not required. 7. Draft your Vows and make sure that it resembles the STANDARD VOWS. You may request a copy of the wedding format from Pastoral Admin. During the wedding: 1. Honor God in your wedding and even in your reception. No green jokes. 2. No need to have an expensive wedding. In the eyes of God, a wedding is holy (God does not differentiate a civil wedding, a simple wedding or a huge extravagant wedding). Don’t get into debt for your wedding. Invest in your marriage. 3. We encourage you to refrain doing a money dance in your wedding. Don’t dictate that your guest should give money in your invitation, unless you are both going to migrate or live abroad. Be grateful with whatever they give. You may have a bridal registry instead. 4. Have your Marriage Certificate signed during the wedding ceremony. 5. Use BLACK INK ONLY in signing the Marriage Certificate. 6. AVOID DOUBLE COATING OF SIGNATURE. This is considered as a falsification of document. 7. For the Bride’s signature, please use your current signature with your maiden name and not your married name. 8. Return your Marriage Certificate to the officiating pastor/minister once signing is done. Always check if all 4 copies are signed properly. After the wedding: 1. Filing of your Marriage Certificate: A. If you are the one filing you Marriage Certificate, file it at least 14 days after your wedding date to avoid the late registration transactions. Make sure to give 1 copy to the pastoral services office. B. If the church will file your Marriage Certificate, you may ask them for a filed copy of your Marriage Certificate at least a month after your wedding. C. You may claim the PSA copy online of your Marriage Certificate 6 month. 2. Filing Fee: A. Within Cabanatuan City - P1,500 B. Outside Cabanatuan City - P2,000 C. Outside Nueva Ecija - P3,000 3. Things that will help you make your marriage succeed: A. Invest in your relationship with Christ. The starting point of this is going through the first step of the discipleship process: ONE2ONE B. Attend more Christian seminars on marriage. Read Christian books on how to improve marriage. C. Make sure that you join a Couple’s Victory group. It’s good to be connected with a group of people who can pray with you and stand with you in this journey of faith.
