Specifications:
1. All nuts are to be in compliance with ISO 4032
2. All hex head nuts shall be marked with the class designation as specified in ISO
898-2. Other marking requirements will be found in Branding and Quality
standards, if applicable.
3. All nuts shall be baked after any hydrogen producing operations (examples –
plating, acid cleaning, pickling) at sufficient temperature and for sufficient time to
assure diffusion of hydrogen to prevent hydrogen embrittlement.

5. Passivation process must be Hexavalent free.
6. Coated nuts shall be tested for embrittlement in accordance with appropriate
standards. The standard used and test results shall be documented on certification
documentation supplied with the nuts.
7. Deviation Requests
a. Request for deviation to any requirements of this specification shall be
submitted through the Joy Quality Notification process.
