PROBLEM:
Countless issues and new ones continue to exist in the global housing crisis despite
ongoing efforts to address them. The foremost problem in housing is the backlog in
adequate shelter, which the housing backlog as of 2021 is estimated to be 3.9 million
households. Assuming that production of housing units would average 200,000 units
every year from 2012 to 2030, the backlog would still persist and hit 6.5 million
households by 2030. The social unviability and economic segregation of urban residential
communities go hand in hand with the housing shortage. As this urban area expands,
social issues the same as inequality, socioeconomic segregation, and social exclusion
start to emerge. If we don't alter our current planning methods and develop fresh housing
solutions, future Philippine communities will continue in the same direction.

GOALS:
In view of the current global crisis, increased attention has been given to numerous social
issues caused by social distancing and community quarantines. These have brought to
light deeply rooted problems regarding the lack of social inclusion in Filipino
communities. The goal is to provide mixed community housing that encompasses the
improvement of interaction, ability, opportunity and dignity of the community on the
basis of their identity. This helps target smaller units of the society in order to create a
more tight-knitted inclusive Filipino community.
