Agustin, Ruth Mae B. BSE-1 MATH CWTS-1F My Reflection about the “Blinding Soldiers” The word USAFFE or United States Armed Forces in the Far East is a command of military law developed by the United States in our country of the Philippines. The Teduray Tribes are the ethnic groups in the Philippines that are related to Muslims. There are five members of the Teduray tribes who joined the Philippine Militar or Soldier, Feliciano Adamat (Tuy), Pedro Untal (Atu), Kwak Bunag (Kwak), Topo Malbaran (Topo), and Kilado Moili (Kilado). They are friends who are brave and valiant soldiers because of their great sacrifices they made just to defend our country against the Japanese. They left their families just to join the army and protect our country. But their poverty hindered them so that they could not join the Armed Forces of the Philippines because they did not study or graduate because they did not know how to read, write, and speak the English language. But they want to serve our country so they had the opportunity to train to be soldiers. The five of them were taught by a soldier leader how to do what they should do to become a professional soldier such as how to handle a gun and how to defend themselves against the Japanese. They were called "Blind Soldiers" because they did not know how to write, read and they did not know how to speak and understand the English language because they did not study and graduate in college. But even so, it didn't stop them from being soldiers because their skills showed them that they know how to handle weapons like guns and defend themselves against enemies. They help and empathize with each other that they can become soldiers to defend our country against the Japanese. In the first battle in Malaybalay, Kilado Moili died while they were fighting the Japanese but Feliciano Adamat defeated the Japanese. In the second battle, Topo Malbaran died, so Feliciano Adamat, Pedro Untal, and Kwak Bunag were the only five left alive. Even though there were many trials that came in their lives, they were still strong even though two of their colleagues or friends died in the first and second of their battle, it inspired them to fight the Japanese and finish their war with them. Not only they experienced war and shooting with the Japanese, but they experienced trials in the forests, they saw people killing their fellow human beings and beheading them, and they also experienced living in the forest without water and food that would provide them every day as they traveled and they became strong and helped each other. The girl they saw in the forest became their inspiration and lucky charm because this caused them to meet their compatriots and fellow soldiers so they could return to their hometowns and be with their families or loved ones while carrying- they carry the memory of their two friends who died in the war. Feliciano Adamat received a gold medal because of his heroism and sacrifice he made for the country against the Japanese and so did his two colleagues. When they returned home to their families, their colleagues in their hometown witnessed the heroism they did in our country against the Japanese. Our country was happy when the Japanese surrendered the war and our country was happy and peaceful because of our brave soldiers and their sacrifices. \DOCUMENTATIONS Atu (Pedro Untal) Tuy (Feliciano Adamat) Kilado (Kilado Moili) Kwak (Kwak Bunag) Topo (Topo Malbaran)
