Welcome,
My name is Ms. Sarber and I have been a teacher for 18 years within Fort Worth ISD. I love science
and hope to inspire future scientists. My background is in ecology, zoology and botany. I am first
generation college graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science from Texas Christian University and a
Master’s Of Education in Science Curriculum and Instruction from University of Texas at Arlington.
 Course Information
Biology is the study of life: plants, animals, fungi, and bacteria. The study of life is about how all
organisms survive, how all organisms adapt to environmental changes internally and externally, how
organisms of pass traits to the next generation, how organisms are classified, and how cells are
structured are related to cell processes.
 Supplies Needed:
12 Pack Pencils
1- inch Binder
3 Glue Sticks
 Grading
I follow the District guidelines for Grading.
 Tests (summative and projects): 25%
 Daily Grades (homework, classwork, and formative assessments): 40%
 Participation: 10%
 Labs (lab participation and lab reports): 25%
 Classwork
Classwork and labs will support student learning that incorporates reading, writing, and discussions
while exploring with hands-on activities. Homework will consist of finishing in-class assignments,
biology interactives, and on-line quizzes. All students will have access via Google Classroom.
Projects will be incorporated within units.
 Tutorials
I am available every morning and afternoons for extra assistance. Please come and ask for any
assistance.
