1 Preface
1.1 Explanation
For the increasing demand of various users, we have improved the software function and
operation performance. What improved mainly include the following points.
1)
Control software is upgraded to Ver.01.06.
2)
The Operation software is upgraded to Ver.01.02.00, which support 8 operation
languages of English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and
Turkish.
3)
The title of print template can be revised manually.
These series of new software is only suitable for BS-200 biochemistry analyzer with SN of
BQ**-****, BQ**-A***, BQ**BA*** or BQ**B****. Note: New BS-200 need no upgrade. < You can
judge it by the difference of reagent tray>.
What you should do:
① Upgrade the control software to Ver01.06.
② Upgrade the operation software to Ver01.02.00
③ Modify two parameters.
2 Control software upgrade
2.1 Illumination
If you want to use the newest operation software Ver.01.02.00, the five units of the main board
also need to be upgraded.
2.2 Detailed steps
1)
Copy the file “BS-200 control software upgrade package of v1.6” to the computer.
(For example, to disc D) ， it should include 5 Units( MainUnit.hex, MixUnit.hex,
ReacUnit.hex, ReagentUnit.hex and TempUnit.hex.)

Open the file “D:\ BS-200 control software upgrade package of v1.6”, then double
click the icon of Download.exe button to perform software downloading.
3)
The default set is like information of picture 3-1:

Change the setting like the Picture 3-2 below:

Attention:
i.
You need select “BS-200” firstly.
ii.
Serial port always is COM1.
iii.
It need not to choose Baud rate, Parity bit, and Sum, The software will search these itself.

iv.
Select “All units” from “Select a unit” menu.
v.
Choose the path of the “ Select a file (.HEX)” menu as” D:\bs-200 update package of
v1.6\MainUnit.hex”
5)
Press”start” button to start the upgrading. Please pay more patience about the procedure,
because the software will take some time to upgrade the next one after finishing
upgrading the former unit. The total procedure will cost about 15 minutes.
6)
Reagent is always the last unit upgraded, after the dialog box showing the upgrade is
successful, it’s better to wait at least 30 seconds to make sure the software was
upgraded completely. Then shut down the upgrade software and finish.

3 Modify two parameters
3.1 Change the jumper on main board
As we need to revise some parameters of main board, so the position of parameter-protect jumper on
main board need to be changed.
Firstly, please refer to the Picture1-1 and Picture1-2 to locate the position of jump on main board.
Then change the jumper as the following step.

Detach the 10 screws marked in Picture1-3 below (from back view of the analyzer):

Detach the rear cover (up) and we can see the power drive board, the Main Board is just on the
opposite side of Power Drive Board.

3)
Loose four screws of the bracket of power drive board and main board as showed in Picture 1-5.

After loosing these four screws, we can lay down the boards with bracket gently as below,

beware the wires around and don’t exert all your strength, which may loose the cable connection
and even break them.

Fix everything back and complete the work of changing the jumper.
3.2 Parameters backup
Before changing parameters, you need to back up all parameters in your computer in convenience of
your future check.. Software upgrade would not change the parameter of the machine. Please refer to

the following step.
1)
Connect the analyzer and the computer with serial port cable. Turn on the analyzer and PC as
normal.
2)
Copy BS-200 debug software to the PC.(Note: it need not to be set up ).
3)
Double click the run icon to run the BS-200 debug software(Note: operation software can not be
run at the same time)
4)
Select ”Command” and “Main Unit ” ,Press “shake hands with machine ”button to connect
the analyzer.

Wait for about 10 seconds and press the “download parameters ”button, when the code data
current returned from analyzer and stop, press “mechanical reset ” button to reset mechanical
parts. If the mechanical part reset normally except syringe assembly, the connection is ok, if not,
please download parameters and reset mechanical parts again.

Click
“PARA and Speed” menu, and then select “Main Unit” like the picture2-1 below:

Press ”Query” button to query the parameters of the Main Unit, and then press “Save” to save
them as a .txt file in a safe place of your computer, the file name usually named as ”Main unit”
for the convenience of your future check.. Please refer to the hint of picture 2-2 and picture 2-3.

Repeat as step 6) to save all the other units’ parameters, including sample unit、mixing unit、
reaction unit、temperature unit、and reagent unit ,make sure the parameter files are in the
same folder (for example , D:\backup for BS-200).
8)
If you back up all parameters successfully, close the debug software and exit.
3.3 Parameters configuration
Detailed adjust steps
1) Open the Debug software and perform “Download parameters” and “mechanical Rest”, and
then ”Enable modifying parameters”

2) Enter into the page of “PARA and Speed” ,then select Sample Unit, Query it’s parameters,
and find the parameter name of “Sample disk inner circle standard height for dispensing
sample after aspirating ”, and “Vertical limit position of reaction disk” ,then respectively
change them as below:

3) Click Config ALL button to configure them, and check by perform Query. If you find the
parameters you just revise are not changed, repeat the step 2) again.
Picture for configuring the first parameter, you also need to configure another parameter in this menu.
4 Operation software upgrade
4.1 Uninstall the old version analysis system software
4.1.1 Backup the database
Go to the path of ” C:\Program Files\Mindray\BS200\Database, change the file name from
“bs200” to “Db200”,

if the name is already “Db200”, let it be. And then return back to path of C:\Program
Files\Mindray\BS200\, copy the two files of “Database” and” ReacData” to a safe place,such
as the desktop of your computer.
4.1.2 Remove the old version of analysis system software
Go to Control panel, select Add/delete program, then find the file of BS-200 program and
delete it.
4.2 Install the new version of operation software
1) Run the Ver.01.02.00 of operation software, and choose the language
you want to install as below.

2) A window will pop up and ask you if you want to continue setup, if you
want, click “Next” to continue, Otherwise, click cancel to exit.
3) Input user name, Company name and Serial number (it is 11111111), then
choose “complete” as the setup type.

4) Finish installing the software.
5) Recover the database:
Copy the files of “Database” and” ReacData” that you stored on the desktop (in step 1) to the
path of
“C:\Program Files\Chemistry Analyzer\Chemistry Analyzer”.
6) Run the analyzer software. Click the sign of V in the top right corner,
check whether the version of control software is 01.02.00, and the
version of control software is 01.06(The Main Unit and Reagent Unit are
01.06, other unit is 01.05 ). Please refer to Picture 4-7. If not, upgrade the
corresponding software again.

5 The tile revising of patient report<Optional>
When you upgrade this newest version of software, the title of patient report can be
changed as what you want. The following steps show you how to realize it.
1) Go to path of C: C:\Program Files\Chemistry Analyzer\Chemistry Analyzer
\Print Template \ Report, find the file of “REPORT FOR PATIENT” and
open it with Excel, then use “Ctrl+F” order in keyboard to find the words of
“Patient report”<different name for different language>, and change it to a
title that you want to display on patient report, and then save this file as
“copy of REPORT FOR PATIENT”.(Note: the original file is read only, it can
not be covered.) Please refer to Picture 6-1 and Picture 6-2. It’s the same to
other print template of different languages.
Change it to one title that you
want to display on the sheet of
Patient report. For example, we
change it to “Patient report of
hello hospital.”

Save this file as a new name
that
different
from
the
original one. Here we use
“Copy of Patient report”

2) Perform operation software, select the print template you just revised as
showing below.

4) Click “Prev.” button to preview the print template. Please refer to Picture 6-4
and 6-5. If the title of patient report has changed to the new title you set up just now,
It means you have done it successfully, If not, try to change it and load again..
