We hope you are doing well with your family and business endeavors. On behalf of the
University of Pittsburgh, we are elated to invite you to our 2023 Graduate Convocation
Ceremony as our distinguished keynote speaker. The ceremony will take place on the 12th of
May at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center at 12 PM.
The remarkable accomplishments and extraordinary leadership you have exemplified
throughout your career have made life changing impacts throughout our world. Whether you are
improving computing systems, making healthcare more affordable, or mentoring other
entrepreneurs, we continue to be amazed by the successes that you have achieved through
business and venture capital. We believe that your achievements will further motivate our
graduates as they transition into the working world and venture through their own unique paths
to success.
Your strong emphasis on the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance showcases
many qualities that are strongly admired in the workforce. These values are highly integral to the
principles we advocate at Pitt. We are confident that your participation will benefit every one of
our graduates from all realms of studies including business, law, medicine, and engineering. Your
address and emphasis on your personal recollections will inspire our graduates in a way that our
professors in the traditional classroom setting will not be able to do. With this, for the first time
in 150 years, we are excited to reunite our once fragmented, school-specific graduations into an
integrated graduation focusing on our strength and unity at Pitt. We are certain that your
participation will further inspire our students to become motivated to fulfill their dreams and
aspirations, similar to the way you have throughout your ambitious career.
In addition to an all-expenses paid trip, I am honored to announce that after thoughtful
deliberation amongst our Board of Trustees, we are offering you an honorary Doctor of Business
Administration (DBA) degree, awarded by the distinguished Katz School of Business. Having a
DBA degree will strategically place you ahead of your competitors, serving as a testament to
your executive leadership skills and entrepreneurial mindset. This degree is highly exclusive as
only 2% of the US population possess this prestigious degree. The DBA degree is our highest
