Conditionals are sentences that uses if. This can also be called if-clauses. They describe the result of something that might happen or might have happened but didn’t. Zero conditional happens if the condition is a fact or a constant. First conditional meanwhile, happens if the condition is possible and most likely to be fulfilled. Second conditional happens if the condition is only a theory that is possible to be fulfilled. Third conditional is simply the opposite of second conditional. Third conditional only happens if the condition is impossible because it is already too late to fulfill. Zero Conditional. If + simple present, simple present If you freeze water, it turns into ice. First Conditional. If + simple present, will-future If it rains, I will stay at home. Second Conditional. If + simple past, conditional I= (would+infinitive) If I studied hard, I would pass the exam.
