b. Flatbed plotter: The pen or the inkjet moves in horizontal and vertical directions over a
fixed horizontal flat surface on which a paper is mounted.
c. Drum plotter: It uses a drum revolver or roller to move the paper and the pen or the jets
of the ink during the printing process. The paper is placed over the drum which is then
rotated.

5. Compiler converts the source code into object code (machine language), the entire file at a
time and produced the error listing along with line numbers, while the interpreter converts
the source code into object code line by line and reports errors line by line, thus program
execution cannot resume until it is rectified.

1.Operating system is a system software that is an interface between the user and the
computer. It performs the following functions:
a. It recognises input from the keyboard.
b. It sends output to the display screen.
c. It keeps track of files and directories on the disk.
d. It controls the peripheral (input and output) devices such as printers.
e. It acts as an interface between the hardware of a computer and the user.
2.As soon as the computer is turned on, a software, namely, Basic Input/Output System (BIOS)
is run. This software is built into a computer’s ROM. BIOS then does the following:

2. Template and Theme
A theme is a predefined set of colours, fonts, and visual effects that you apply to your slides
for a unified, professional look.
A template is a design or a pattern of a slide or group of slides. These templates contain
layouts, theme colours, theme fonts, theme effects, background styles, and even content.
3. Notes Page Master and Slide Master
Notes Page View displays the speaker notes for each slide. They are not a part of the
presentation, so the audience will not see them. Notes Pages can be printed with the slides.
The text of the notes is regular text that can be formatted. PowerPoint allows you to change
the formatting of all the Notes Slides of a presentation.
The Slide Master is a part of the presentation template. It controls the overall formatting
and object placement for the presentation.
4. Insert Charts and Insert Tables
Charts are used to display or analyse the data in a pictorial format. To insert a chart we need
to follow a few steps:
a. Click on Insert tab, then Chart option from Illustrations group.
b. The Insert Chart dialog box appears. Select a category in the left pane and choose a type
from the right pane. Click OK.
Tables are used to represent data in the form of rows and columns then it makes a table.
Tables can also be inserted in a presentation. Follow these steps to insert a table in a
presentation.
a. Click on Insert tab then the Table dropdown list from the Tables group. Now, click on
Insert Table… option.
b. The Insert Table dialog box appears. Specify the number of rows and columns required
in the table and click OK.
5. Merge Cells and Split Cells
Merge cell option combines various cells into 1 cell.
Split cell option splits a big cell into smaller cells.
D. 1.Hyperlinks can be used to create a link to show an external document in a running
presentation.
2.Sometimes we require data from an already saved presentation. We can reuse the slides
form old presentations to save our time and effort.
3.It is template slide on which the text/logo/image/fonts/header/footer common to all slides

2. INPUT and LET
INPUT Statement is a statement used for accepting a value (text or numbers) from the user
at the time of program execution.
LET Statement is a statement used for assigning a value to a variable within a program
whose value may change during the execution of the program.
3. PRINT with semicolon (;) and PRINT with comma (,)
Comma Separator (,) is similar to a Tab key. A comma when used between the two printing
values with one PRINT command leaves a gap of one tab space.
Semicolon Separator (;) is similar to pressing Space bar key once. A semicolon when used
between two printing values with one print command leaves a gap of one space.
4. REM and PRINT
REM adds comments/remarks in a program. Remarks are non-executable statements in a
program that enhance the readability of the program code.
Print is used for displaying a value, message or an output on the monitor. Print is an
executable statement.
