NARRATORS Born of a virgin in the city of Bethlehem the baby Jesus was wrapped in swaddling clothes and heralded by the angels and the heavens, a star so bright that shepherds and Wise men alike came to pay homage to the new born King. The son of a carpenter. He may have seemed unremarkable yet he grew in wisdom and favor with God and with Man. Baptized by John Jesus stood in triune as One, while The Holy Spirit descended like a dove and God declared his pride in His Son. Unmoved by the temptations of Satan, Jesus gathered his disciples and with His Twelve assigned, Jesus all God and all man…began. A life unending, faith of a mustard seed, miracles we had never seen Jesus was the living epistle, the walking divine. He was God in word and deed and even those from other lands came to receive the blessing of belief. I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. But…., there WERE people whose lives were built on his absence. There were PEOPLE who gathered in temple halls just to detract him – they sought to discredit the things that his life came to name. To rid themselves of His truth so their comfort could remain. They struck a bargain with a disillusioned disciple, Judas, they gave him 30 pieces of silver to reveal the man who was disrupting their peace and replacing their studied faith with his speech. So we meet him in the garden sweating blood while his disciples kept watch, wait I mean slept...Judas arrived with soldiers and revealed Jesus with a kiss That kiss of acknowledgment signaled Christ’s divine assignment..“No man take my life, lest I lay it down....” and.... though Pontius Pilate wanted no part of it. We noisily claimed his blood be upon our head, (crucify him, crucify him) little did we know that very blood we claimed would make our lives forever changed... and we find ourselves at the beginning, the end, and the beginning again in God's plan on Calvary... WOMEN Woman 1 – Should we….? Woman 2 – No. Let’s let her be Woman 1 – She’s carried so much. Endured so much. Woman 1 & 2 – (beat) Seen so much Woman 2 – She saw Him at birth before the world knew who He was Woman 1 – She saw Him in the temple when His purpose had just begun Woman 2 – She saw Him while he blessed, and he fed, and he healed Woman 1 – And while they hung Him on that cross Woman 2 – And now Woman 1 – She sees His lifeless body, and mourns over her loss Woman – Though she sees, yet she stands as only a mother could. Woman 1 & 2 – Always seeing and watching her son, (begin to walk) Woman - (turn back) As only a mother would. NARRATOR They laid his body in a borrowed tomb hewn from rock and rolled the stone to seal it. Fearing the promise of Jesus that he would rise on the 3rd day the pharisees and chief priests requested soldiers to guard the tomb where he lay. I can imagine those who were healed by Him their belief undeterred, by his death ..... and their words.....Christ healed my blind eyes and now I see.....I had only to touch the hem of his garment and believe..... He just said the word and my servant received......we lowered him through the roof an invalid and he walked away healthy from his bed that day..... my brother in his tomb lay.....dead for many days- until Jesus came He called his name - Lazarus come forth.... So many stories of His miracles, and his teachings were gifts given during his life, But we had so much more to come from his death Because on that third day….(earthquake sounds) .there was a great earthquake and as angels rolled the stone away, they proclaimed “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
