the dense Saranda forests.

Located around 48 km away from Puri, and by the
side of Lake Chilika, Satpada means seven
villages, where 'sata' stands for seven, and 'pada'
signifies village. Such a panoramic group of 7
villages is the safe habitat for 100-odd vulnerable
Irrawaddy dolphins settling in the crystal clear blue
waters of the Chilika Lake.
4. Satkosia Gorge
Positioned in the Angul district of Odisha, Satkosia Gorge is
a well-known tiger reserve expanding an immense area of
990 km. Commissioned in 1976 and encompassing an area
of 800 km, the reserve now spreads over a long gorge
region of 22 km, where the River Mahanadi traverses the
Eastern Ghats.
