As you grow up you do not realize how many heroes surround you. To me a hero is determined, fearless, and dedicated. My hero is my coach, Michelle. I would describe Michelle as determined. She shows that she is determined in many ways. One way is making sure that her athletes succeed. Michelle will always put her athletes first if that means they are going to get that skill, win the competition or just become a good athlete. Not only is she set on helping us succeed, but she is also determined to build a good team. Michelle enjoys everything about being our coach and being our “gym mom”. Coach Michelle is also fearless. For example, she stands up for what is right not only for herself but her athletes too. During a competition if the scoring is not right or nobody understands or agrees with what the judges are saying, she will fight for the right score for any of us. She is unafraid to teach new skills. As us athletes get older and start to level up, we learn harder and more complex skills. For us to learn the skills the correct way, we need someone who is willing to throw themselves under us if something was to go wrong. Also, when learning new tricks, it sometimes is easier if someone can show us what it is supposed to look like, and she is always willing to do that for us. She also goes out of her way to do her best to help us enjoy the sport through mental blocks or hard times. Michelle is also always dedicated to being our coach, best friend and a good staff member. Michelle always shows up for us, even if she is not one hundred precent there mentally, she will fake it until she makes it. She is dedicated to building healthy relationships with her athletes and staff members. She is also dedicated to us. She has become many of ours “gym mom”. She is always the one to go to if you need to vent about something, tell her a funny story or even just to talk about your day and what you did over the weekend.
