Gilded Age Invention AD
At the turn of the century, the United States experienced a surge in creativity and
invention. During this period of industrialization, many people began experimenting
with new ideas and products. Also, shopping by mail was a growing phenomenon.
Therefore, many companies began creating catalogs for their customers. Using a
reliable internet source, or your textbook, find a product that was invented during the
Gilded Age. Create an advertisement for that product. Remember that you are trying
to show people how that invention will improve their life. You are PERSUADING
someone to buy the new product, BE CREATIVE!!! See the example below.
Steps:
• Select a partner and an invention.
• Create a PowerPoint presentation about your invention as you learn more about
it.
• Make your advertisement. Use a catchy slogan and visuals, correct spelling and
grammar, and accurate facts. It can be made digitally or on paper. It should fill up
one slide or be 8.5 x 11 in terms of size. It should be neat and accurate!
• *AD needs to be your own original work. You can’t copy one from the past.
