Khen Rod B. Ahito MTTE – Electrical Engineering Technology October 1, 2023 CSTE_MTTE 1A Research Journal 2: Conceptualization of a Research Project When planning a trip, you need to decide on a destination or at least a route. The same is true for our research journey. The first step in the research process (journey), then, is to identify a problem or question with clarity and precision. We need to start with a problem statement. What questions, problems, issues, or concerns exist that you would like to answer or explore in depth? The identification of a research problem involves recognizing a prevalent social issue or concept that requires investigation. Researchers identify these problems using observation, knowledge, wisdom, and skills. The challenge lies in formulating a unique, academically relevant, and unique problem. The research problem is the primary focus of a study, derived from a topic that meets certain criteria such as interests, capabilities, motivations, manageability, and contribution to literature. It is the first step in conducting research and indicates the need for further study (Pardede & Indonesia, 2018). On the other hand, Dr. Sarah Namoco highlights the importance of independent and dependent variables in research, which are factors related to the study's problems and outcomes. Furthermore, the meeting focused on conceptualizing research projects and creating a conceptual framework, emphasizing the importance of field experts validating survey questionnaires and selecting experts carefully for accurate measurement and data collection.
