Topic: The Microorganism Superhero Comic Strip Contest

Description:
Microorganisms are everywhere, and they play a crucial role in our world. In this contest,
we invite students to create a four-six panel comic strip that explores the fascinating
world of microorganisms. Show us their importance and potential danger they can pose
in an engaging and creative way. Let your imagination run wild as you bring these tiny
but powerful creatures to life on paper.
Clue: Microorganisms play various roles, including but not limited to:
Diseases: How they cause and spread illnesses.
Environment: Their role in nature and environmental processes.
Food and Drinks: Contributions to the production of food and beverages.
Medicines: Their role in medicine.
Biotechnology: Their use in advanced biotechnological applications.
Contest Rules:
a) Contestants should create a four-six (4-6) panel comic strip on an A3 (29.7 x 42.0
cm) size of paper with a corresponding title.
b) Drawing can be digital or by hand. Only colored comic strips are allowed; no black
and white entries will be accepted. There is no word limit.
c) The comic strip and all accompanying text must be in English.
d) Violent, explicit, offensive themes, graphics, and language are not allowed.
e) All entries must be original works that have never been published.
f) One comic strip can be prepared by 1-2 students.
g) Entries must be submitted to Biology teachers in the School round. Teachers must
submit scanned work in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format with high resolution to
biodepartment@sapat.edu.kg before 23:59 Midnight of December 4, 2023. All students'
work should be submitted in one email with the Email Subject:
“SchoolName_ComicStripMakingContest2023”.
Judging Criteria:
Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
● Story and messages: 40%
● Creativity, Impact, and Relevance of the theme: 20%
● Artistic Skill: 20%
● Originality: 20%
Prizes:
The top 3 winners will be chosen, with the following prizes:
● School (1st place): Microscope
● Student (1st place): Sweatshirt with Comic Strip Print
● Student (2nd place): T-shirt with Comic Strip Print
● Student (3rd place): Cup with Comic Strip Print
