Group Name: The Hawkers
Topic: Taking Care of Planet Earth
Issue: Waste management in Kibera slums
Goal
To encourage an eco-friendlier environment for construction,
farming, and building, and other economic activities. Improve
urban planning and transportation and waste water treatment.
Improve mining waste management, restore the landscape,
and conserve topsoil.
Aims & Objectives
1.To Raise Awareness Of The Impact of Not Managing Waste in
Kibera slums.
2. To Reduce Waste in Kibera.
3. To Make People Start To Try Clean Up The Environment in
Kibera.
Introduction
Land pollution refers to the deterioration of the earth's land surfaces,
at and below ground level. The cause is the accumulation of solid
and liquid waste materials contaminating the group.This
destroys the environment and does not help people improve on
what they are supposed to do.
Our Action
In The Food and Agricultural Wastewater Utilization and Treatment
by
1. Cleaning The Road.
The streets don't clean themselves, so we had to clean them up.
2. Sorting Out Rubbish
We sorted the garbage so that it would not remain on the floor.
LIMITATIONS
● We bought many items which were expensive such as:
gloves, gumboots, masks and brooms.
● Most group-members do not have laptops.
● It was a very dirty environment to work in and was foulsmelling.
STRENGTHS
● We were provided the items that we needed for
the trip when we were at the place.
● The people were friendly and helped us with the
project
Results
At the end of the investigation the way many individuals
felt about the environment had been modified. Also, as
people became more aware of environmental issues, they
began to realize that if they changed their behavior, the
world would be a happier and cleaner place to live.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion this investigation had been successful. We knew
that we had done a good job in our research and writing.We as
a group had ups and downs getting to this point in our G.P
project. We had many ups and downs in doing this project and
we had a fair share of problems
