For the Facilitator:
Welcome to the Practical Research 2 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on
Importance of Quantitative Research Across the Fields.
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from
public institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners meet the
standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and
economic constraints in schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners
acquire the needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and
circumstances.

Importance of Quantitative Research Across the Fields.
The hand is one of the most symbolized part of the human body. It is often used to
depict skill, action and purpose. Through our hands we may learn, create and accomplish.
Hence, the hand in this learning resource signifies that you as a learner is capable and
empowered to successfully achieve the relevant competencies and skills at your own pace

What I Need to Know
This module will assist you in encouraging the learners to understand how
and why Quantitative Research is Important in any Fields where learners can apply
for their research ideas in the areas of their chosen field strands and future
professions and guide them in conducting a quantitative type of research study.
It gives you the practice you need to expand on your research skill and improve
your ability to understand the content. Exploration in this module is very much
opened and focus more in dealing with the research process.

Doing research is like being a investigator. Both researchers and investigators
are trying to find out something. Both are asking and answering questions. Both are
trying to put together a puzzle to come up with a solution. In both, answering
questions leads to more questions. And, in both, seeing patterns is crucial to solving
the puzzle. Research Across different fields provides student with information about
the foundations of research techniques, the choices as scholars make, and the
methodological decisions according to your purpose to know and inquire into
interesting communication questions while instilling an enthusiasm about the
process in your own field of interests and need for intervention.

Importance of Quantitative Research
Across the Field
In Practical Research 2, is where the heart of interest lies on how can we also
discover Quantitative Research in the field that uses a broad variety of
methodologies, such as surveys, interviews and observation, developed in
disciplines such as in the field of education, sociology, anthropology, medicine, and
psychology. Whereas these disciplines see themselves as purely descriptive but it is
better in understanding on quantitative research, one must have a review on how we
can define research in general related to other areas of academic discipline,
economy, society, health status. Added to this, learn the values to study quantitative
research better.
People do research to find solutions, even tentative ones to any problems, in
order to improve or enhance ways of doing things, to disprove or provide a new
hypothesis or simply to find answers to questions or solutions in daily life. In natural
and social sciences, quantitative research is the systematic, empirical investigation
of observable phenomena via statistical and mathematical techniques.
(ABM) In the Field of Business: Research is an essential part of any
business that wants to offer products or services that are focused. Business
decisions that are based on good intelligence and good market research can
minimize risk and pay dividends and by making market research part and parcel of
the business process.
(GAS & HUMMS) In the Field of Education: Research will help to
understand any subject and its principals in much better and easier way which will
encounter new questions and search for answers of those questions. Research is
not always a concept that practitioners, managers and policy makers respect. Too
often it is seen as an academic activity conducted by others to the profession, not
with the profession and for teachers who are accountable, the public must have faith
in the profession and attitudes to education vary across many social groups so the
performance of teachers can be demonstrated through the publication of research
findings. Research methodologies give teachers the tools to analyze and make
informed decisions about their practice that leads to an expansion of knowledge and

educational communities.
In the field of social sciences: Research deals with the behaviour of
people in their different roles, such consumers, competitors, producers, executives,
salespersons, leaders, workers, followers, teachers, students, opinion-makers, etc.
Research in social sciences deals with the systematic method of discovering new
facts or of verifying old facts, their sequence, inter-relationship, casual explanations
and the natural laws which cover them.

What is It
Quantitative research is used to populate statistics from a high volume
sample size to gain statistically valid results in customer insight. Generally,
quantitative customer research incorporates a survey-based approach to gain

feedback in relation to a populations ideas and opinions. It’s important to ensure a
suitable sample size is used to gain accurate and trustworthy results. To determine
a suitable sample size, refer to the confidence interval and confidence level
calculation. Quantitative Research on the other hand focuses more in counting and
classifying features and constructing statistical models and figures to explain what is
observed. (Fatima, H.,2019 )
A. Quantitative Research and Anthropology > Many discoveries in this field
like human behavior in the society, racial conflicts and human evolution have
given enormous contributions to the improvement of human life.
B. Quantitative Research and Communication > Researchers are often
interested in how an understanding of a particular communication phenomena
might be generalized to a larger population. Example: What communicative
behaviors are used to respond to co-workers displaying emotional stress?
C. Quantitative Research and Medicine >this tends to be predominantly
observational research based on surveys or correlational studies. > Experimental
research designs may enhance the quality of medical education.
D. Quantitative Research and Behavioral Science > the output of this research
focuses on how human behavior relates with another people and also the
individual differences that may affect human relations.
E. Quantitative Research in Educational and Psychology > Many educational
principles in understanding human behavior are the offshoot of this research.
