PROJECT: CREATING AN ORGANIZATIONAL CHART
To be familiar with the administrative needs of a hospital, spend time researching a typical org chart. Once
you feel confident that you understand the organizational chain of command using examples and research,
you will create your own chart for a fictional hospital. Keep in mind that you want it to be as realistic as
possible, taking into consideration the many departments that are likely to be housed in a general hospital.
Your chart should begin with the board of trustees and flow through the executives, major department
heads, managers, and key administrative professionals. Consider that there may be both administrative
and medical professionals on your chart. Do not copy your chart from the many available on the internet,
as your instructor will specifically check for this.
