Nile flow through? How is the Nile water used in each country?
2-Write about the importance of Trans Sahara trade and caravan routes. Analyze the
reasons for the economic growth of Mali and Mauritania in the Middle Ages. When did this
trade decline and why?
Key Points:
Trans –Sahara trade existed between Sahara, sub-Sahara, and North Africa.
It led to the growth of empires in Africa in Ghana and Mali.
It led to an exchange in culture, the spread of Islam and Arabic language, and Islamic
literature.
Most of the trade along the route was based on Islamic values.
Mali benefitted from the trade of salt, and Mauritania and Ghana grew their trade from
gold, ivory, and kola nuts.
The trade declined when the voyages of discovery led to European traders exploring the
west coast of Africa and colonization of Africa.
UAE’s traditional political heritage
Consultation has always been a central part of political life in the Emirates. Long before
the formation of the Union, the Majlises of the Rulers of the Emirates were key meeting
points for exchanging views and advice between the Rulers and citizens. This tradition is
reflected in the Constitution of the Union States, with the creation of the Federal National
Council, (FNC) as the 4th (federal) authority. The FNC contributes to the political decisionmaking in the State, from discussing and approving the federal laws, to regulating the
affairs of society, and dealing with the questions addressed by its members to the
concerned ministers on issues related to citizens and their needs or exchanging opinions
on general topics with the government for the interest of the country and the citizens. In
this way, the UAE has always been democratic. This is reflected in recent changes
allowing for 20 of the 40 members of the council of the FNC to be chosen through the
votes of an electoral college.
Q1- illustrate majlis and the consultative process.
Q2- What is the role of consultative governance in the UAE?
Conflict styles and management
All conflict falls into two categories:
internal and external. Internal conflict is when a character struggles with their own
opposing desires or beliefs. It happens within them, and it drives their development as a
character. External conflict sets a character against something or someone beyond their
control.
