Step out and Decide (Role of reason as the driver of my decision) Identifying the decision to make After knowing the context, consequences, and the feelings involved, I will step out from these thoughts and evaluate all of my findings like gathering clues garnered from a treasure hunt and ask myself the question: “If I would be a mature person, what would I decide?” Scrutinizing the decision that should be made as a starting process 1 Layout possible options Layouting the possible alternatives or options before deciding and at the same time, knowing the context of the options and alternatives 6 Weigh the value (Role of feelings) MY 6 STEPS 2 IN MAKING A 5 DECISION 3 Ask for opinions Asking for opinions from family, friends, or acquaintances to further evaluate what would be the best option to decide. 4 Through knowing the consequences; feelings, values and principles will take the role next. Asking questions such as: “If I will choose this, what would happen to the person involved, what would he/she feel?” “If I will choose this, would it bother my conscience? Would it still be in line with my values and principles in life?” “If I will choose this, and that will be the consequence, what would I feel?” “Between this or that, which is of greater value for me? For others?” Track possible Consequences In each possible option, asking the question to myself first is: “If I would choose this, what would happen is…?” and then followed by “If I would choose this, what consequences would I experience?”
