Name: Belandres, Park Patrick A. Course/Section: AR 203-ARCH22S2 “Less walls more life” Home is somewhere that can make us feel genuinely part of, a place where we can feel safe without having too much thought about the dangers of the outside world while maintaining our positive view of so-called “life”. As time continually passes, we become too worried about some things that drive us to be more “extra”. Having these, we give ourselves bounds and limitations on the things that we can do, cutting the options that make us free inside our dominions, leading to a bland and colourless way of living, depriving us of a lot of things that make us human. As for us, Architects, we need to build a home that provides less psychological, and emotional impediments, instead, we should aim to create something more flexible and breathable in a sense. There are more profound things that should be taken into consideration, one of these is how we incorporate the thought of personal interactions followed by individual behaviours, to be aware of personal use of space and be more community-minded. Following that is for us to adapt to new living environments and a more balanced way of dealing with our objectives and challenges without affecting the safety and well-being of our clients. We should offer more straightforward ways that do not hinder the way people live, instead, we need to offer them the least and simplest way to lessen the overall toll. As we deal with natural factors, we should learn how to provide creative ways of controlling general considerations such as weather, light, shade, breeze direction, textural variety, and spatial flexibility, so we can create spaces that can be used for multiple purposes with utmost functionality. In conclusion, it is not about the complexity and complicatedness of a plan, but it is about how it would lighten and provide an easement for life as it is. As Shaneen Fantin said, “Less Walls more Life”. As for my point, we need to be considerate of the bond and connection of people and make less of the things that would lead to seclusion and separation. This sums up the idea of having something sustainable and keepable along with time, a home that has fewer consequences on the physical, psychological and emotional factors. We need more life, an accurate and clear view of the wonders of life….
