The diagram outlines the stages required when making bread for sale in shops. The process involves six main
stages and various industrial machinery to create individually packaged loaves.
The first stage of the process involves the cleaning and grinding of the main ingredient, raw wheat, which is
used to make flour. This flour is created by adding the wheat to the flour grinder and is then transferred
directly to the next stage of the process, dough creation.
Dough consists of flour, water and yeast and, in order to mix all the ingredients together, these are placed in
the dough kneading machine.
The dough is then transferred to the next stage of the process, bread shaping and baking. Individual loaves
are shaped by a machine and are transferred to the oven for baking.
The final part of the bread-making process is the packaging of the loaves after they are cooled on shelves. A
member staff packages the loaves into boxes and these are then distributed for sale.
