Human trafficking is the recruitment and transportation of people for the purposes of exploitation or receipt of person or without the victim’s consent or knowledge. Human trafficking is the second largest criminal enterprise in the world after narcotics according to the U.S Departmental the state the Philippines is a major source of sex and labor trafficking as estimated 60,000 to 100,000 Filipinos that involves in sex and labor trafficking. Also, it has one of the largest victim populations in the world with an estimated 784,000 people living as modern day slaves. There are many forms of human trafficking lit includes force labor, debt bondage, involuntary domestic servitude forced child labor, for the purpose of trafficking children for armed conflict, petty crime, force begging, for sex, for forced marriage and trafficking for their organ removal. According to RA 9208 as against trafficking ( IACAT), which shall be primarily responsible for coordinating, monitoring, overseeing the implementation of the anti-trafficking in person act. To used any method, including these carried out under the guise of domestic or international overseas employment, training or apprenticeship, for the purpose of prostitution, pornography, sexual exploitation, force labor, slavery. involuntary servitude of debt bondage, it is committed by the use of threat, or use of force, or other forms of coercion, abduction, fraud, deception, abuse of power or of position, taking advantage of the vulnerability of the person, or giving or receiving payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over the person it is done for the purposes of exploitation or the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labor or services, slavery, involuntary servitude or the removal or sale of organs. As to where victims of human trafficking are taken to, most of them end up or can be forced in legal or illegal labor industries, including child care, elder care, the drug trade, brothels, erotic services, hotels factories, forms and like.
