Fingernails and toenails protect the fingers and the toes. These little shields,
if not properly cared of become vulnerable to fungal and bacterial infections. So,
cleaning of nails is not anymore a luxury, it is an important routine to maintain the
hands and feet as healthy as possible.
Before proceeding to cleaning of nails, manicurists should first sanitize client’s
hands and feet to prevent the spread of harmful infections. The following procedure
should be followed:
1. Prepare soapy solution of hot water and antibacterial soap in a bowl or
basin.
2. Place client’s hand/foot in water, and cleanse it with disposable towel and
remove from bath and pat to dry.
3. Remove cotton from dispenser with tweezers and saturate it with alcohol.
Apply to skin by patting.
4. Pat away excess moisture and repeat on the other hand/foot.
Procedure in Cleaning Nails (Manicure)
