Accessing the internet in one of the countries with the worst internet connection
is most of the time challenging. From finding a spot with connection to making sure it is
stable and reliable is quite difficult. Compared to its neighboring countries in Southeast
Asia like Singapore and Thailand, internet connection and access remains poor in the
Philippines even with several innovations and advancements. Finding a stable
connection in the urban areas is already a challenge, but still gets worse on rural areas.
With this being addressed, the acclaimed CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk,
has come up with a new way of providing internet connectivity to these areas. Starlink is
expected to provide the country geostationary satellite internet with data speeds varying
from 100Mb/s to 200Mb/s. This will cause a dramatic improvement on the country’s
internet connectivity, broadband speed, capacity of telecommunication services and
more affordable consumer rates, for it was not possible before with the traditional
satellite internet.
