MOT / TRAFFIC Requirements Confirm to MIP DBJV that TM Plan has been received and reviewed by Subcontractor. Confirm that MIP DBJV Traffic Control Plan(s) have been received and reviewed by Subcontractor. This includes ALL relevant TAR & TAP’s associated with the work sites. TAR = Traffic Accommodation Request(s) // TAP = Traffic Accommodation Plan(s) / drawings and verbiage associated with implementation of the site-specific details for implementation of traffic accommodation. Confirm “Competent” workers are engaged and trained by the Subcontractor in implementation of these TAR / TAP’s Plan(s). Confirm to MIP DBJV that competent workers have the associated ASCA certification for the related tasks that they will be required to perform. (i.e. Flagger Certification) Confirm that Subcontractors are aware that any maintenance of traffic control devices that are supplied must meet or exceed the minimum reflectivity standards for the 2 jurisdictions that EVLW is associated with. Temporary Condition signs to be Orange Diamond Grade (DG3) as outlined in the Manual of Temporary Traffic Control – City of Edmonton – 2021 or Alberta Transportation (AT) Temporary Conditions reference for Traffic Control on Roadways. Confirm Subcontractor’s Truck and Vehicles are equipped with working 4-way flashers and rotating beacons (or equivalent LED alternatives). MIP Orientation, (that includes Traffic Management), has been scheduled. Ensure that traffic control is limited to those areas where proper access / egress zones do not damage completed or final “works”. (i.e. LRT track alignment curbs) PPE to comply with Z-97.1 standards. Fluorescent Yellow Green. Lighting to be provided to ensure flaggers are visible as required pursuant to City and AT standards. Traffic control devices to be in good working condition. Traffic control devices placed as per TAR / TAP requirements. Failure to provide adequate traffic control implementation that results in NCR / NPE points, financial or otherwise will be the responsibility of the Subcontractor. All traffic control signage and / or devices that are supplied to site will be the responsibility of the subcontractor as it relates to insurance or vandalism, be they owned by the Subcontractor or rented from others. If piloting services are required, Subcontractor shall ensure that Provincial / Federal regulations and permits are in place and adhered to. Application for any such permits, if required, needs to be applied for well enough in advance. All associated costs will be to the account of the Subcontractor. Subcontractor to ensure that timing of traffic control set-up and removals are understood as they relate to PA requirements and any associated NCR / NPE financial ramifications are to the account of the Subcontractor.
