Coms 2302 – Assignment #1
1. I once was in a class where I was assigned a 4 person group and being in the middle of
Covid, so the class was only online and I didn’t get to choose my teammates. We had 4
weeks to do a group project to help out by creating a fundraiser by creating 2 flyers, and
2 social media pages or create a professional website along with a 10 minute speech at
the end. My role was to create a flyer that reached out to all age groups in which
everyone who bought a square, could draw with chalk on the sidewalk for only $5 per
square. One person was supposed to do the 2 social media pages, another person was
told to create a written report, and the other was told to create the other flyer. I did my
role perfectly and contributed more than I was supposed to due to one member dropping
the class and not telling any group members. This meant I had to create 2 social media
pages and the flyer which got done. I feel my contribution helped our 3 member group
very well although by the time the project was due, one group member and me were the
only ones putting in the most effort as the other member did not have the report typed up
and completed yet so this gave us a C for the project by the end.
2. I will try to choose my team members wisely and I will try to communicate more often
and better in the group project and try to develop a schedule that the team can meet.
