HRM2000 Human Resources Management Research Report (25%) Fall 2022 The purpose of this assignment is to understand the impact key areas of HRM have on an organization’s ability to achieve business goals. You will work in groups of 4 to complete this assignment. Group work requires that you work collaboratively with your classmates to complete the assignment. Each student is to find 2 appropriate research articles on this chosen topic. From the individual article recommendations submitted by each group member, the group will choose the two best suited to your research topic. Write an annotated bibliography for these two articles. a. Research articles must be Academic, Scholarly or Professional Journal Articles. If you do not know what these are or where to find them, be sure to book an appointment with your Humber Librarian. Include the name and location of the company. b. Explain why their situation is appropriate to connect with your chosen topic and research articles. c. The example can come from almost any credible source. Some examples of sources could be newspaper articles, magazine articles, television broadcasts, podcasts, webcasts, and personal experiences. d. Your example must reference a real story about a real company with real business outcomes. Summarize the case study/scenario you chose as a benchmark for your topic. Using the key learnings from the two research articles, analyze this company i. What have they done well? What can they do better? ii. Your analysis must draw on the research findings presented in the research articles you have chosen. Make recommendations about what this company can do to improve their approach and incorporate the research findings/best practices into their HR Management. What are the potential impacts to the business? i. If done well – what are the potential (positive) impacts on business outcomes/objectives that can be realized by implementing your recommendations ii. If your recommendations are not implemented, what could be the negative impacts on business outcomes/objectives iii. This step requires you to revisit the connections that HR has from the impacts at the individual level to the overall (collective) organizational level.
