##
START OF SPEECH
Attention Getter/Creative Intro (one of the strategies from chapter on Intros
and Conclusions): Quotation: ”Life is like a box of chococates...” but at
Bentley it feels like Life is like the Falcon Market, you never know what
flavor of ice cream you need to calm your emotions
Reason to Listen (why should the audience care): Cause Ben and Jerry’s is
good, and with my energy and humor it will be entertaining
Overview (brief preview of main points for the audience): There was a lot
more than tasting ice cream for Ben and Jerry’s to succeed. Once you
learn about the history, flavor breakdown, and quality, you will understand
why I love this company.
Main Points and Supporting Points:
1. History
a. Founding
b. Social and Political Activism
Transition: They stated making flavors to make a statement on issues in
our world… blah blah… but the real question is, are they even good?
2. Flavor Breakdown
a. Different types of pints
b. My favorite and why
Transition: So why does *flavor* taste so good? The ingredients!
3. Why Ben and Jerry is so good
a. Ingredients
b. Air content
c. Supporting a good cause (fair trade)
Transition to close (a wrap up):
Review (Summary of your main points): I hope you learned something from
this presentation. Whether that be more about the history of the company,
the difference between ice cream and friends of the ice cream family, and
what makes ice cream good.
Conclusion Strategy (creative close, tied in with open): So next time you
are at you’re at the Falcon Market, buy that pint of half baked. It may be
more but heck, we go to Bentley we can afford it.
