Activity 2: Let's Divide: Based on the four sites of the first mass, give its similarities and differences.
Write it in the space provided. The rubric was also given for your guidance in giving points.
SIMILARITIES

During the initial years of Spanish
colonialism in the Philippines, all
four masses were held.

Fr. presided at each of the four
masses. a Spanish priest named
Pedro de Valderrama.

The purpose of all four masses
was to spread Christianity among
the locals.

All four locations were in the
Philippines.
DIFFERENCES

Limasawa Island hosted the
first mass, and Butuan City
hosted the second. The third
mass took place at Mazaua,
which is now a part of Butuan
City, while the fourth mass
took place in Cebu City.

Rajah Kolambu and his
supporters attended the first
mass, while residents of
Butuan City were there for the
second. The third and fourth
masses made no special
mention of attendees..

The first mass was celebrated
on the island's coast, while the
second one was held on land.
Although the location of the
third mass is not recorded, it is
assumed that it took place
aboard a boat. Also conducted
on land was the fourth mass.

The first mass took place in
1521, and the second one took
place a few months later. The
fourth mass was celebrated in
1565, while the third mass was
also conducted in 1521.

The first mass was the first one
in the Philippines that was
officially documented, but the
most well-known one is the
fourth, which commemorated
the founding of the first
Spanish colony in the nation
and the start of Spanish
colonialism.

Ferdinand Magellan presided
over the first mass, while
Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, who
was in charge of the Spanish
mission to the Philippines,
presided over the fourth.
