Course Objectives:
1. Understanding the laws for heat, work, and energy
2. Understanding equilibrium and spontaneous process
3. Understanding reversible process and maximum/minimum work
4. Understanding phase behavior and phase diagrams
5. Evaluation of thermodynamic properties and maximum/minimum work of a
process from the phase diagram

Course Requirements:
1. You need to watch the lecture videos available in NTUCOOL before coming to class.
(The agenda for watching the videos is provided below)
2. You need to take notes when watching the videos. The notes will be checked in class
as a way to assure that you have seen the videos before coming to class.
3. In class I will answer any questions you may have while wathcing the videos. I may
also ask further questions to help you better understand the concepts introduced in the
lecture.
4. In class we will also work on exercise problems. You may discuss with your
classmates but everyone has to write the answer to exercise problem individually.
