ACTIVITY 1: THE HEART OF A TEACHER What are the characteristics of a learner? Every learner is unique for how their distinct families shaped them; as a result, their personalities vary depending on how they are exposed to and react to the outside world. As stated in the first sentence of the video, "the child arrives like a mystery box," which means they still don't understand the significance of each undertaking, which leads them to become curious; it then indicates that learners are wonderers who are driven by their individuality to question, seek answers, and explore the knowledge they have acquired. Last but not least, when a learner is diligent, they have the capacity to grow in accordance with what they have learned, which allows them to seize success and make it a lifelong endeavor. How do you describe the heart a teacher should have? There are various ways to express a teacher's heart, and each learner will perceive it differently. A teacher should be compassionate, empathetic, devoted, loving, patient, caring, inspirational, and most importantly, free of bias given the variety of students they encounter every day. Each trait contributes to the totality of each person. The greatest qualities of every learner were established by a teacher's heart, which helped them to grow. These attributes bring out each learner from their shell and foster inspiration and encouragement that help individuals become enthusiastic and positive in all aspects of life. Insights The role of a teacher is extremely demanding and challenges every quality of the person who chooses it and accepts the responsibility that comes with it. A teacher needs to be resourceful in order to meet the demands of the students and innovative in order to promote efficacy in each learning ability in a world filled with uncertainty. Being a teacher is a job that doesn't end after eight hours of work; it continues as you attend to the needs of each student, not just inside the classroom's four walls but also as you create a stimulating environment where they can learn. It is not an easy job because the learner's future depends on them and because it will be their compass to pursue their goals. REFLECTION The learners reflect society. It is dynamic, extremely difficult, and sometimes unpleasant. The opening statement truly got my attention; the child is described to a mystery box that needs to be discovered. Education equality is described as "giving people with resources that are appropriate for their needs," but as every learner is different, treating them equally does not mean that their needs are being met satisfactorily. To meet the requirements of the learners, you must as a teacher unbox every part of your student’s ability in order to understand their need. Since I have been seeing my wife work as a teacher for so many years, I have come to appreciate how challenging her job is every day and how well she manages her time to do both lesson preparation and paper works. She always stressed the importance of the learning process in helping students build the abilities they will need throughout their lives, she even made sure to design the activities in order to establish the learner's path. The role of a teacher extends well beyond merely imparting knowledge. They assist learners in overcoming obstacles in their lives by encouraging them, and opening their minds and hearts. The teaching profession has a big impact to the people’s lives, each acquire knowledge through being taught that they may employ in their daily lives. It also helps to create a better society by preparing these learners with the skills they will need for success in the future.
