Duni Chand Chambial (born 29 September 1950),
is a contemporary bilingual poet from Himachal
Pradesh and a critic who, as an editor in chief,
has been editing Poetcrit, a reviewed
international journal for more than three decades.
Chambial appeared as an Indian English poet by
publishing his first volume, Broken Images, in
1983. He rooted himself as a poet in Indian
English Poetry with the continuous publication of
his several other English poetry collections and one
in Hindi. His poems have been translated into
many languages
Gautam Chand Sharma
Gautam Chand Sharma 'Vyathit' (born on 15
August 1938), also known as Gautam Sharma
Vyathit or simply Gautam Vyathit, is a folklorist,
playwright, and poet from Himachal Pradesh,
India. He is noted for his literary works
in Dogri and Hindi, as well as for his various
efforts to preserve and nurture the endangered
folk arts of Himachal Pradesh, especially those of
the Kangra region. Vyathit was the joint recipient
of the 2007 Sahitya Akademi Award (Bhasha
Samman) for his contributions to Himachali
languages and literature.
Baba Kanshi Ram (11 July 1882 – 15 October
1943) was an Indian poet and activist for
independence born in what is now the Indian state
of Himachal Pradesh.
Bhupendra Nath Kaushik
Bhupendra Nath Kaushik (7 July 1924 – 27
October 2007) was a Hindi and Urdu language
poet, writer and satirist.
He was born in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh. After
study, he settled in Jabalpur, Madhya
Pradesh and completed an M.A. in English. After
pursuing writing along with his service for some
time, he became well known as an Urdu story
writer. But when he was settled in Jabalpur, he
did write poetry in Hindi.
He won the "Sahitya Maneeshi alankaran" in 2005
for his satire, "Koltar Mai Aks"

P C K Prem (P C Katoch) is an Indian poet,
novelist, short story writer, editor and critic,
writing in English and Hindi. He is a former
academician, civil servant, and member of
the Himachal Public Service Commission, Shimla.
R. Harnot
R. Harnot (born 22 January 1955) is a creative
writer from Himachal Pradesh, India. He is noted
for his numerous poems, short stories, and novels
in Hindi and Pahadi. He has received multiple
awards on the state, national, and international
levels.. Harnot writes mostly about societal issues
such as socio-cultural change,
casteism, environmental degradation, corporate
greed, and official corruption in the everyday life
of contemporary rural western Himalayas.
Nirmal Verma
Nirmal Verma (3 April 1929 – 25 October 2005)
was a Hindi writer, novelist, activist and
translator. He is credited as being one of the
pioneers of the Nai Kahani (New Story) literary
movement of Hindi literature, wherein his first
collection of stories, Parinde (Birds) is considered
its first signature.
In his career spanning five decades and various
forms of literature, writing story, travelogues and
essays, he penned five novels, eight short-story
collections and nine books of non-fiction, including
essays and travelogues.
