At WeCommunities, we build and manage communities by bringing
people together, with a strong emphasis on sustainability.
We are seeing an ever-increasing interest in living better, including
growing one's food. Adding to these interests is how urban India is
staring at pollution, water, and quality of life issues. We are trying to
address these by building sustainable living communities.
We started with the Tamarind Valley
Collective, near Bengaluru, in 2017 and
the Rose Valley Collective in 2021. Both
are fully subscribed to with 75+
members. We have started work on two
more collectives - near Gurgaon and
Bengaluru
We are soon starting sign-ups for a new
farming collective near Bengaluru The Madakkal Ridges
The Madakkal Ridges will start as a 70+ acres farming collective, with future extensibility being
planned for. This is centered around the concept of sustainable community living, being developed
using principles of agroforestry, about 65 km from Bengaluru. Slots for the initial like-minded seed
group of about 10 members are now open at a special price.
The Madakkal Ridges lies amidst hills and natural lakes, near Madakkal (Tamil Nadu), close to the
Cauvery North Sanctuary. 40+ members will own 1 or 1.5 acres each. Individual land portions are
pooled as part of the farming collective and designed, built, and managed as a single large farm.
Houses made of sustainable materials will be 700 sq. ft. in size (for the 1-acre option) and 1100 sq.
ft. (for the 1.5-acre option), with options to extend this to a 2, 3, or 4 BHK. We offer a high degree of
customization and involvement in the design process. Community kitchen, guest and staff houses,
community center, poultry, dairy, roads, and water bodies are anintegrated part of this collective
farm. Biome and Ananas are our design partners.
