Assignment on Lord of the Flies in about 1000 – 1200 words.
Part 1: Write an essay on Lord of the Flies (800 – 1000 words) in which you include most of the
following points (not necessarily in this order):
 a discussion of the main themes
 a characterisation of at least two central characters
 Golding’s use of symbols
 your comment on the following quotations:

Part 2: Write a review of Peter Brook’s film from 1963 in about 200 words. Your review must include
an assessment of Brook’s treatment of the main themes and the title.

 You are welcome to use sources from eg. the Internet, but remember to cite any sources that
