February 24, 2020 Cynthia Greathouse 2656 Trailwood Dr. Troy, MI 48083 (248)854-4368 Clutz9566@wowway.com Attn: Jim Grove Suburban Jeep Chrysler of Troy 1790 Maplelawn Dr. Troy, MI 48084 RE: 2013 Jeep Overland VIN#1C4RJFCGXDC544851 I believe that the vehicle I purchased is a “lemon” in accordance with the Michigan State Lemon Law. This letter is to serve as my written notice of demand for a full refund, as stated in the Lemon Law Guidelines. It states that after receiving this notice, one last attempt may be performed to remedy the problem. (Although it also states that 4 total attempts to resolve the same issue is cause to be considered a lemon, and I have been in approx. 8 times to be looked at or worked on directly related to the tire issue and a total of 14 times for tire tread readings etc.). I honestly do not believe the problem will be or can be remedied….I do not want another set of tires put on just to find out that after ANOTHER 15K miles the problem still isn’t fixed. All the while my vehicle is getting older and older because this is a slow progression problem and doesn’t present itself quickly. Purchased 9/14/2013 All of the following were times I went to the dealership regarding my tires: 17,711k miles tire tread was down to 6/32 20,509k miles had tires rotated 21,256k miles rotors found to be rusted - fixed 24,392k miles tire tread was down to 4/32 26,237k miles Replaced Rack and Pinion, Leak in Hydraulics Replaced all 4 tires – Dealership Warrantied Two, Paid out of pocket for two ($400.00) 39,860k miles Tire Tread down to 4/32 39,981k miles Front End Alignment Performed Replaced Right Front Lower Control Arm Replaced all 4 Tires – Paid out of Pocket $1225.00 45,597k miles (don’t have a reading of tread depth) Front End Alignment Performed Replaced all 4 Tires – Dealership warrantied 47,661 Front End Alignment Performed 49,864 Front End Alignment Performed 60,801 Tire Tread down to 6/32 Power Steering Flush Performed, Tires Rotated 66,173 Tire Tread down to 4/32 66,521 Tire Tread down to 4/32 – Tire Warranty states that tread warranty is 60k miles Tires need to be replaced AGAIN At 66K miles I will be needing my FIFTH set of tires, this is clearly a manufacturing issue and definitely falls under the Lemon Law Guidelines. I have maintained all recommended services in the specified times per FCA requirements: such as oil changes, Brake System Flush, 4x4 service, cooling system, power steering service, fuel injection service etc. I have spent a lot of money to take care and maintain this vehicle, as well as purchasing the MOPAR Lifetime Warranty in hopes that I would have this vehicle for a very long time. I have been at the dealership no less than 14 times to have my vehicle diagnosed (to no avail) or to be worked on directly related to this tire wear issue. This is frustrating and time consuming, not to mention costly. Please respond in a timely manner as to how we will move forward and get me in a new vehicle. Thank You, Cynthia Greathouse
