Activity 1
Manufacturing can be defined as the production of merchandise for sale with the
help of human resources, machines along with chemical and biological processes.
Production is the process of creating goods and services. It requires a set of
input to produce a set of output. Our country is blessed with abundant sources of raw
materials in making basketry products, while macrame uses only one material – the
cord, which is also readily available.
This lesson focuses on the acquisition of knowledge and development of skills in
the production of macrame and basketry products. Skills such as preparing a project
proposal, computing for cost and the selling price, and formulating criteria to evaluate
macrame and basketry products are all included and given emphasis.
It is hoped that this lesson will not only provided knowledge and skills needed
in producing macrame and basketry products but also develop efficiency, creativity and
resourcefulness in the students.
Activity 2
1. Create Products
These products are your Component products, used in your Bill of Materials (BOM) to
assemble other products.
2. Create Bill of Materials
This is your "Recipe". When you create a Bill of Materials it is the "recipe" for creating
the product.
3. Build the product
Assemble a product/create an assembly based on your bill of materials.
