SCRIPT TITLE
INT. BACKYARD - DAY (TEXAS 2013)
JOE, LATE 20’s, sits across from his SISTER, AIMEE, MID 30’s,
eating a meal. He’s going on and on about conspiracy
theories.
JOE
Just you wait. Something bigger
than any of us is coming, and I’m
going to be ready.
JOE
Suit yourself.
JOE, gets up giggling, as AIMEE smiles watching him go.
Beat.
Just then, AIMEE clocks something reflecting light from his
pocket. SHE takes a closer look and notices its a gun.
Her heart drops. She gets up and hurries toward JOE stopping
him cold.
AIMEE
What the hell is wrong with you? A
gun?
JOE
I’m encouraged to bring it wherever
I go.
AIMEE
Well I’m encouraging you to get it
out of here.
JOE gets serious. He sees his sister isn’t on his side.
JOE
Best I be getting on, then.
JOE doesn’t break eye contact, AIMEE feels his disgust. He
finally puts his plate down and walks away. AIMEE takes a
deep breath.
