Course overview
• This course is for you if:
- You want to learn practical information on ZooMed
emergency management directly from specialists
- If you are a general practitioner, technician, assistant, or a
student, with or without experience with ZooMed pets
• In this course you will learn:
- How to triage, diagnose, and stabilize the most common
emergency presentations of ZooMed pets
• In this course we will cover:
- The most common ZooMed pets, such as rabbits, rodents,
ferrets, hedgehog, sugar gliders
- Avian species, with focus on Psittacines
- Reptilian species, with focus on chelonians, snakes and
lizards kept as pets
Course structure
• First, we will cover the basics and teach you what equipment
and materials you need to succeed
- We will then learn the foundations of triaging, clinical
skills, handling, and restraint, physical examinationa and
initial stabilization
• Then we will digg a little deeper on sedation and analgesia,
medical math (dilutions and how to calculate CRI), and
RECOVER CPR
• More fun will come with an overview and practical aproach
to dehydration, hypovolemia, hypotension, and metabolic
derangments. All easy and step-by-step.
• We will then learn about the most common emergency
presentations in ZooMed pets. How to diagnose and
stabilize, from prolapses to liver lobe torsion, we’ve got you
covered.
• Last, we will walk you through euthanasia techniques
