Possible issues with the CX5 If you hear a clunk when the suspension works over bumps, you may have excessive clearance in a joint due to wear. It might be as simple as a loose nut on the strut, or something more subtle such as a shrunken, dried-out rubber bushing. I'm hearing the same thing from my 2019 Signature. It is coming from my driver side front suspension area whenever I go over a speed bump or dips in the road I hear a type of clunk or creak sound. I have an appointment in 2 weeks to get it looked at. It doesn't happen all the time but enough for me to be bothered with it. I checked out the TSB from the 2017-2018 and it seems like that might be it but waiting to see what the dealership will say. Hopefully it's just some loose bolts. I had the creaking sound coming from the front end of my 2019 CX5 signature after 4k miles and thought it was my suspension. The tech looked it over and said the suspension looked fine so he tightened the chassis bolts and the cowl bolts. He said the cowl bolts were all loose that he could turn by hand so after he tightened them I no longer get any creaking sounds. Have them tighten the cowl bolts and chassis bolts. I believe it was the cowl bolts that were causing the problems as now my car is quiet and tight where as before when it creaked it seemed a little sloppy. Could also be brakes, or the caliper, pad or the tsb regarding the brae calipers, in the video it seems noticeable that the clunk is when the brakes are applied on a hill or incline, could be a loose caliper, pad, or faulty pad https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10173100-0001.pdf
