In the United states, the coal mining industry is a 30 billion dollar industry as of 2022, and Peabody Energy supplies nearly 80 percent of that market, grossing 22 billion in 2022. With mines in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, and Wyoming, Peabody Energy has 21 coal mines across the U.S, including the 2nd largest in the world, the North Antelope Rochelle Mine. Furthermore, Peabody Energy has mining operations in Australia, operating 4 mines to be Australia’s 5th largest producer of coal.
