I.
Short description of the program
In the academic year 2008–2009, Dr. Ramon de Santos National High
School started its Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) Program.
Students who lived in remote parts of Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija who had
academically excelled in their primary years were given the chance to join in
this program and develop their knowledge and skills in Science, Mathematics,
English, and Research. Through the use of the curriculum's specialized
subjects, students were introduced to advanced knowledge, procedures, and
skills. Activities that enhanced the students' learning experience included
handling real objects first-hand, manipulating them, and participating in
various competitions.
The STE program strives to develop inquisitive minds, logical reasoning,
and teamwork abilities in addition to subject-specific learning. As a result,
the kids had the necessary tools and were prepared for higher-level learning,
which includes taking science and math classes in college. The school was
able to generate graduates through this curriculum that are very competitive
in terms of their research abilities, science, English, and math skills. The
selection of STE teachers is based on their areas of expertise, and they have
all undergone training to ensure that the lectures are delivered completely
and accurately. With highly competent and diligent teachers in STE, the goals
of science curriculum are substantially achieved. The goals of the science
