DIPARTIMENTO DI SCIENZE STATISTICHE PAOLO FORTUNATI SISTEMA QUALITÀ CERTIFICATO DA DNV UNI EN ISO 9001 Double degree program – Selection criteria Students enrolled in the Stats and Maths curriculum can apply for joining the double degree program with the University of Glasgow. Since this program has a limited number of positions, applicants will be selected according to a ranking. The selection procedure will take place during the second year, at the end of the first semester. At that time, students could have obtained 90 ECTS (80 ECTS from courses with marks). The selection criteria are the following: 1) In order to be admitted, students must have obtained the 6 ECTS for the English language test B2, they must have obtained at least 84 ECTS (including the ECTS for the English language test B2) and must have attained a weighted average mark larger or equal than 28/30. 2) The minimum number B of ECTS obtained by all the admitted students is computed (only ECTS from courses with marks are considered). For example, if all admitted students obtained 80 ECTS from credits with marks, then B=80. Otherwise, if at least one admitted student obtained 74 ECTS from courses with marks and 10 ECTS from other courses, then B=74. 3) For each admitted student, the weighted average of the highest marks (for a total of B ECTS) is computed. 4) Students are ranked according to the weighted average mark. 5) In case of ties in the average marks, the student with the largest weighted number of “cum laude” marks will be preferred. 6) In case of ties in the weighted number of “cum laude” marks, the student with the highest level of English proficiency will be preferred. 7) In case of ties in the English proficiency level, the youngest student will be preferred.
