School Leyte Normal University Grade Level DETAILED LESSON Teacher PLAN IN Technological and Teaching Date & Livelihood Education Time major in Drafting Technology Geraldene S. Aropo 7 Learning Area 1 Quarter June 2, 2023 Week No. Discussion and Mode of Instruction Demonstration CO # Learning Competency/ies: Code: TLE7-8MD-Ia-1 (Taken from the Curriculum Guide) LO 1. Identify drafting materials and tools/drawing instruments applicable to a specific job.. Key Concepts / Understandings tobe Developed The learners will demonstrate an understanding the difference between drawing and drafting and familiarize the physical appearance and uses of the basic tools and materials in Basic Drafting Domain Adapted Cognitive Process Dimensions (D.O. No. 8, s. 2015) OBJECTIVES: Knowledge Remembering Identify the different common drafting tools and materials. Understanding This topic will also compare the difference between drawing and drafting Applying Determine when and how the tools and materials used The fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association Skills The ability and capacity acquired through deliberate, systematic, and sustained Analyzing effort to smoothly and adaptively carryout complex activities or the ability, coming from one's knowledge, practice, aptitude, etc., to do Evaluating something Distinguish the usage of each tools and materials Creating Attitude Values Valuing Organization 2. Content 3. Learning Resources Exchange of thoughts that they are related to the topic such as familiarity of those basic tools and materials and how they use it in their everyday life as students. Value the importance of drawing and drafting and its materials Basic Drafting Tools and Materials Hand-outs, Power point slides, Video Clips and Actual Drafting materials and tools. 4. Procedures 4.1 Introductory Activity 5 minutes 1. 2. Prayers Greetings Pre-assessment: Ask the students if they have an idea about the word “Drawing” and “Drafting” Ask the students about what are the examples of Drawing and what are the examples of Drafting 4.2 Activity “Name that thing!” 5 minutes 4.3 Analysis 5 minutes 4.4 Divide the whole class in to 2 groups Each group has 1 representative The Teacher will flash a word/picture to the class and the Representatives will give a description in an alternate sequence. After the activity, give this guide question to the students: What are the Common Drafting Tools and Materials you’ve previously known? Abstraction Drafting - is the study of the communication of ideas through lines, symbols, codes, drawings, sketches, charts, graphs, and maps. Drawing - is an art of sketching an idea which commonly done through freehand Common Drafting Tools and Materials A. Tools Pencil - The drawing pencil is one of the draftsman’s most important tools categorized by different grades of hardness and softness. T-Square - it is used for drawing horizontal lines and serves as a guide for triangle when drawing other kinds of lines. Triangles - these are used for drawing vertical and oblique lines. Usually comes in 45° and the 30° x 60°. Ruler - is used to draw a straight line. Triangular Scale - also known as “Architect’s Scale”. Its purpose is to reproduce the Dimensions of an object full size on a drawing or enlarge them to some regular proportion. Lettering Pen or Speedball Pen - These are used for drawing letters of different styles. 10 minutes Drawing Compass - generally used for drawing arcs and circles. Dividers - are used for dividing lines into any number of equal parts, and transferring measurements and spacing points or lines. Protractor - a semi circular scale divided into 180 equal parts each of which is called a degree,(°), and is used for measuring and laying out arcs of circles as well as angles that cannot be measured with the 45° or the 30° x 60° triangles. French curve - this is used for drawing irregular curves. Erasers - used to remove smears, pencil or ink lines and other unwanted marks Erasing shield - made up of metal or celluloid with irregular holes. It is useful to protect the rest of the drawing when making an erasure. B. Materials Drawing Paper, Masking or Scotch Tape, Pencil Sharpener What is drafting and why is it important? Also referred to as “technical drawing,” drafting allows people who work in these fields to communicate their ideas through a visual reference. It also allows them to assess the feasibility of a particular design — specifically, with regard to its creation. 4.5 Application Some students will be asked in front to choose one among the drafting tools and materials on the table and be able to tell to the class the name and function of the specific drafting tool/material chosen 10 minutes 4.6 Assessment Conducting a Quiz: Analysis of Learners'Products 1. It is the study of the communication of ideas through lines, symbols, codes, drawings, sketches, charts, graphs, and maps. 2. It is one of the draftsman’s most important tools categorized by different grades of hardness and softness. 3. Refers to the art of sketching an idea which commonly done through freehand. 4. These tool is generally used for drawing arcs and circles. 10 minutes 4.7 Assignment Reinforcing / strengthening the day’slesson 5. A semi circular scale divided into 180 equal parts each and is used for measuring out arcs of circles. 1. 2. Prepare and bring required drafting tools and materials. What are the different safety reminders when using drafting tools and instruments? What are the different kinds of Projection Drawings? 3. 4.8 Concluding Activity 5. Remarks 6. Reflections Give the Summary of the topics as explained and why is it important to know some of the basics it and how it will affect in Architectural and Engineering Field A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation. C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of learners who have caught up with the lesson. B. No. of learners who require additional activities for remediation. D. No. of learners who continue to require remediation. E. Which of my learning strategies worked well? Why did these work? F. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal or supervisor can help me solve? G. What innovation or localized materials did I use/discover which I wish to share with other teachers?
