Who can obtain SAP Best Practices?
SAP customers and partners can download SAP Best Practices from the SAP Software
Distribution Center on the SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com/swdc).
SAP Best Practices are provided free of charge.
Are SAP Best Practices available to other interested parties?
All interested parties who are not SAP customers, partners, or employees can view the SAP
Best Practices documentation in the SAP Help Portal (http://help.sap.com/bestpractices).
Are there any prerequisites for downloading SAP Best Practices from the SAP
Software Distribution Center?
For downloading SAP Best Practices, customers and partners require a valid S-User ID. In
order to obtain this S-User ID, please register on the SAP Service Marketplace entry page
(http://service.sap.com). For more information about obtaining an S-User ID, see SAP Note

What does an SAP Best Practices package comprise?
An SAP Best Practices package comprises a documentation package and a configuration
DVD. The documentation package contains the documentation of one industry or one crossindustry.
Note: the country versions of the SAP Best Practices Baseline Package are delivered on two
documentation packages. Please refer to the info page in the SAP Software Distribution
Center for detailed information.
The SAP Best Practices Add-on is delivered on the configuration DVD.
Are packages available for all SAP Best Practices versions?
No. Some SAP Best Practices versions comprise only a documentation package, but no
configuration DVD, for example, SAP Best Practices for Business Intelligence and SAP Best
Practices for Governance, Risk, and Compliance.

The following steps will show you how to download your favorite SAP Best Practices version from the SAP Software
Download Center in the SAP Service Marketplace.
1. To download your selected SAP Best Practices version, choose Installation.

2. Select the desired items, and choose Add to Download Basket.
3. On the following screen, choose Download Basket.

4. In the Download Basket, you have the choice of two download options:
Option 1:
Download several items in one single step using the Download Manager. For detailed instructions on this option,
choose Get Download Manager. The selected items are now available in the download basket. You can open the
download manager and start the files download process.
Option 2:
Download individual items without using the Download Manager. For downloading individual items without using the
Download Manager, click on the Description of the desired item.

5. Downloading the SAP Best Practices documentation package and configuration DVD:
Download and unzip the documentation package. Then use the intro.htm file to view the documentation package.

The configuration DVD (if available) contains the SAP Add-On that your technical team member will upload into the
SAP system. The ADDONINS.pdf located on the Configuration DVD (folder: DOCU) provides more details regarding
the Add-Ons.
