ORGANELLE
Nucleus
FUNCTIONS
It’s the control center of the cell; it carries information for
reproduction and directs all cell activities mitochondrion.
Cytoplasm
Responsible for holding the components of the cell and protects
them from damage. It stores the molecules required for cellular
processes and is also responsible for giving the cell its shape.
Endoplasmic reticulum
To produce proteins for the rest of the cell to function.
Ribosomes
Help in protein synthesis. Protein is required for many cell activities
such as damage repair and other chemical processes.
Golgi apparatus
Modifies, sorts, and packages proteins and other material within
the cell.
Centrosome
Acts as the microtubule-organizing centre of the cell.
Mitochondrion
Produces the energy currency of the cell, through respiration and
to regulate cellular metabolism.
Lysosomes
Function as the digestive system of the cell, serving both to
degrade material taken up from outside the cell and to digest
obsolete components of the cell itself.
